Tree Management

Trees improve our quality of life by providing shade, giving us clean air, removing carbon dioxide, and filtering stormwater. Miami Beach is proud to be a Tree City USA community.  This designation is sponsored by the National Arbor Day Foundation and recognizes communities that have proven their commitment to a healthy urban forest. Part of our commitment is having an Urban Forestry Division dedicated to managing and protecting our beautiful trees. Efforts to support our urban canopy would not be possible without the support of residents and their love for the natural environment.  In the last decade as a tree city, the City has planted many native species to increase our lush canopy. This includes Greenbutton wood, Pitch Apple, and Gumbo Limbo.
